I’ll be one of the first to admit, as much as I love some L’Oréal…I have a thing for high end brands. NARS especially. Is it the cheeky names for their products? Supervixen, Deep Throat, Orgasm, or Super Orgasm…you get the gist. Is it their social media presence on Twitter? Or is it the sophisticated packaging coupled with the wide shade range? I have no idea. Anyway, recently I ran out of concealer, and decided to try something new since Sephora had 3x the points for their VIB clients.
I had always heard great things about Radiant Creamy Concealer, so I figured I would try it instead of my usual Pro Longwear (I’m an NC45). Is MAC Pro Longwear great? Yes. Is this Radiant Creamy great as well? Yes, but in a different way. They both match my skin tone perfectly, however I personally find that I get more of a brightening effect with Pro Longwear. On the other hand, Radiant Creamy when swatched has tiny light reflecting particles. It delivers on being both radiant and creamy. It applies smoothly under the eyes, no tugging, no watery/serum consistency, just good ol’ creamy concealer to make you look like Starbucks for your order correct. Radiant Creamy has a wand — less product is wasted, while Pro Longwear as we all know, has a pump — which would always pump out too much product for me.
While Radiant Creamy will run you about 37CDN before taxes, and Pro Longwear will run you about 24CDN before taxes, I do think this concealer is worth it. On more than one occasion I wore it for over 12 hours, no under Smashbox Under Eye Primer, no face primer under the eyes, only my usual eye cream…and this DID NOT BUDGE. It didn’t fade away, nor did it crease on me. This is probably what impressed me the most. I applied it with a Beauty Blender in the morning, without setting with powder or touching up throughout the day and it lasted perfectly. I see this is as one of those investment products, but if you’re not into investing…then keep looking, because rarely does one find a concealer this good with no creasing.
