Bare Minerals READY Eyeshadow 2.0 in The Scenic Route

White (Breathtaking), Green (Spectacualr)

Before you continue reading my thoughts on this duo, I have a quick PSA. If you have hazel eyes, consider it a personal injustice to not try this duo. The same goes for you if you have light brown eyes. I’ll be the first to admit that the only Bare Minerals product I had tried prior to this was their Illuminating Mineral Veil; admittedly, I had been equating ‘minerals’ to ‘less pigmented’. This eye duo, especially when paired with Smashbox 24 Hour Primer, has changed all that!

The lighter shade — Breathtaking, appears white in the pan, and blends out to a lovely white gold, it works perfectly as a highlight colour; similar to NARS Albatross. The olive green shade is Spectacular, and again there are flecks of gold running throughout. For this reason, it would work beautifully for someone with hazel eyes (see PSA in first image caption), or brown eyes. I decided to review this duo for more than one reason. Spring is approaching (it isn’t fully here in Toronto just yet), and everyone wants to play around with colour — this green is not over the top, and I think this would create a lovely smokey eye if a creamy bronze or brown base was used on the lid. The price is right, because this is approximately 25CDN. Lastly, this is perfect for someone who is constantly rushing to work or school — 2 colours and you’re off! Stay tuned for my review on the eye brow product from this image.

  1. I love this duo on you! The green really does compliment your eye colour and skin tone so beautifully. I have been looking at the BM duos and quads for a while… I may have to try one for myself… Not that I need anymore eyeshadows hahah
