Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Mascara

As mentioned previously, one of the products slated for review was one of Maybelline’s Pumped Up Colossal. While it isn’t new on the market, it’s new to my makeup bag. Quick sidenote though. Have you heard about Nasty Gal’s collaboration with M.A.C.? Apparently there are 3 lipsticks shades (red, violet, burgundy) that are going to be available come December 4th!

This is Maybelline’s biggest brush, and it also has a double curved wand; the claim that it loads a double shot of product onto the brush also proved true (this is felt when you take the wand out of the tube)

Personally, I find this reminiscent of their The Colossal Volum’ Express mascara — but better. I had used that one in 2011 (had collagen, just like Pumped Up Colossal). This is different from Great Lash: Lots of Lashes because that brush is distinctly smaller and focuses more on coating tiny hairs. Illegal Lengths focuses on — you guessed it — adding length to your lashes, with the use of fibre extensions. The Falsies focuses on giving your lashes more curve (something my lashes naturally have), while the Falsies Flared gives a flared* false lash effect.

With all of that being said, this mascara was very impressive. Was it lengthening? Not particularly — which is fine because that’s not what the focus was on in any case. It was on adding volume. Did I find that this added volume? Absolutely! And what I love is that it doesn’t clump, nor does it flake. But since this is — in my opinion, a “wet formula”, be extra careful with application to your bottom lashes because it can become fairly messy pretty easily.

Not lining both my upper lashline and inner rim was deliberate, because I wanted no distractions with the visuals provided. In this picture I’m wearing two coats (don’t let the product dry between coats), and I loved how it turned out! Do I think you should get this? Yes, yes I do.

I had inquired on Twitter a few days ago about whether or not Brow Drama in their EYE STUDIO Collection would be coming to Canada, and I was told “soon, stay tuned!” What did I spot at Shoppers’ Drug Mart today? Brow Drama, which is a tinted gel mousse for your eye brows. I currently have an eye brow gel that I’m using — and loving. This comes in 3 shades: 260 Deep Brown, 255 Soft Brown, and 250 Blonde.
