When I went to purchase my relaxer kit, the store had a few shades of the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal at the front — the darker options. As I’ve said (a million times) before, certain brands and products are hard to find here in Toronto. Even though I had heard great things about these concealers on social media, I’m one of those persons that dislikes trying something when it’s being hyped about (very strange, I know). My concealer is in the shade GC980 Cool Tan, but since I’m in an NC45 this wasn’t bought with the intention of matching my skin exactly; Cool Tan is a dupe for MAC’s Pro Longwear Concealer in NC43. I’ve been using this for highlighting, and I went with this one because I don’t highlight and contour often, so you won’t see me investing too much money in contouring products. The consistency is great, it blends easily, the coverage is good, and it doesn’t crease. Though I’ve used my MAC concealer as base for shadows, I haven’t tried using this for that trick. The brush tip isn’t the best for blending purposes — I blend it in using a dampened sponge. My only concern is that this product looks like it may finish a bit quickly. We’ll see in the next few months though, since only a small amount is needed. I plan on purchasing the shade identical to NC45, as well as a shade dark enough for contouring. MAC’s Pro Longwear Concealer is about 20CDN (before HST) for 0.30FL oz. While L.A. Girl Pro Conceal is about 2.50 (before HST) for 0.25 oz. Is this worth $3? Definitely! This is perfect for beauty aficionados and beginners alike — a quality product without breaking the bank, L.A. Girl has really considered WOC here.
The other day I went by Shoppers’ Drug Mart, and they had the Color Sensational shades Iced Chocolate and Coral Sensation on sale for $1 each. Yes, you read that correctly. So I grabbed one of each, and Essie’s Take It Outside — this was a dollar as well. I have’t used these enough to give a review as yet, but once I have, I’ll definitely do a post.
If you haven’t had the chance to read my previous post, I was sent some samples for my blog, which I will be reviewing. So go ahead and let me know what you would like to see reviewed first! My 100th post is next, and I’m pretty excited!
